Memorial Day Kicks Off Pool Season

Memorial Day kicks off pool season, and it will be here before you know it. Will you be ready?

If you’re hosting a backyard barbecue and pool party this year, use this handy guide to help ensure your party goes off without a hitch. Find tasks to complete at two weeks, one week and the day of your party:

Two Weeks Out

If you haven’t officially opened your pool, now is the time to do it.  Make sure to:

  • Check your equipment
  • Remove and properly treat your cover for storage throughout the summer months
  • Vacuum any debris that has collected during the winter months
  • Bring us a water sample for analysis

Have you registered for the TruBlue Promise?

If you use BioGuard’s 3-step program and a water enhancer, this is a no-brainer.  This program guarantees you have clear water all season long, and if your water turns green or cloudy, we provide the remedy products at no cost to you!  Free to join, simply stop into any of our stores and complete the registration!

One Week Out

Make sure your pool is holding chlorine and your pH and alkalinity levels are stable.

Give yourself some time to adjust levels if needed so the pool water has time to balance out prior to the big day!

Make sure that patio furniture cushions are clean and dry, flower containers are designed and placed, and the yard is groomed.

A Few Days Out

Are you grilling?

If you use a wood pellet grill like a Louisiana Grill, make sure that you have a supply of wood pellets on hand.  Check out this recipe for Balsamic Grilled Chicken with Spicy Honey Bacon Glaze.  Get food and drinks and make sure you inflate your pool toys so they are ready to go (we have some fun new Emoji floats and noodles – check them out!).

The Day Of

Enjoy your day and quality time with friends and family!! When your guests have gone home check your water chemistry and balance!
