Are you ready for Memorial Day?
Memorial Day kicks off pool season, and it will be here before you know it. With the recent CDC changes to loosen mask wearing at outdoor events if you’ve been vaccinated, it looks like there may be more opportunities to welcome family and friends back to the pool. But will your pool be ready?
Here are some tips to help ensure your pool party goes off without a hitch:
10 Days Out
If you haven’t officially opened your pool, now is the time to do it. Make sure to:
- Check your equipment
- Remove and properly treat your cover for storage throughout the summer months
- Vacuum any debris that has collected during the winter months
- Bring us a water sample for analysis
Visit one of our stores to pick up any water care supplies you need. As a premiere BioGuard dealer, we currently have a good supply of chlorine products and other water balancers in the store to meet the needs of our regular pool customers. Make sure your pool is holding chlorine and your pH and alkalinity levels are stable.
Give yourself some time to adjust levels if needed so the pool water has time to balance out prior to the big day!
Make sure that patio furniture cushions are clean and dry, flower containers are designed and placed, and the yard is groomed.
A Few Days Out
Are you grilling?
If you use a wood pellet grill like a Louisiana Grill, make sure that you have a supply of wood pellets on hand (available in-store). Check out this recipe for Balsamic Grilled Chicken with Spicy Honey Bacon Glaze. Get food and drinks and make sure you inflate your pool toys so they are ready to go. We have fun floats, noodles, and pool games in our stores. Come in and check them out.
The Day Of Your Memorial Day Party
The past year was stressful, and everyone is looking forward to a return to gatherings. If you are ready to open up your backyard pool again, relish in the moment, and linger a bit longer with those you love. Enjoy this day and quality time with friends and family. But, don’t forget to check your water chemistry and re-balance when your guests have gone home!
